Brooks Kelly

Brooks Kelly was educated in Plymouth and Barnstable public schools. Following military service in Paris, he attended Carnegie Institute of Technology (now Carnegie Mellon University), Pittsburgh, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree.

A long time resident of Pembroke, MA, Kelly served as President of the first Pembroke Arts Festival and is an active member of the Cape Cod Art Association, the South Shore Art Center, the Duxbury Art Association, and the North River Arts Society. He is a former member of the prestigious Copley Society, where he held the title of Copley Master.

Working in acrylic and collage, Kelly has won numerous regional awards with a bold, colorful style that is often tinged with humor. He is represented in private and corporate collections nationwide.

When asked for an "artist statement", Kelly quotes a favorite professor:" I paint to see what it will look like."

He and his wife, Anne, have been married for more than 50 years. They have five children and four grandchildren.
